Allied Health was established in 1985, with the incorporation of the Western Australian AIDS Council.
The program was established at a time when there was considerable community discrimination towards people who had been diagnosed HIV positive.
Since then, WAAC Clinical Services has played an integral role in the community response to the HIV pandemic.
30 years on, Integrated Support Services continues to meet the support needs of many people living with HIV (PLHIV). During this time the program has witnessed many changes in community attitudes and in HIV epidemiology.
These changes have also prompted regular reviews of the model upon which we provide services, and the projects and programs which can best meet the needs of PLHIV into the future.
